“The Sticks” (Fourth Reincarnation)

Written and Directed by John Wooten

“The Sticks” started life as “Purple,” a screenplay with a large cast and locations from Boston to South Carolina. After it was read here at HBO, Mr. Wooten decided to turn it into a play with a slightly smaller but still quite large cast and several sets, visuals and rear projections. After hearing version two read here at HBO, “The Sticks” was born. He decided to turn it into a four character one set play – using the two main couples as characters – although their motives and characteristics changed of their own volition along the way. Now comes version four, still titled “The Sticks” and still with the same two couples as its cast, but different actors will be needed because almost everything else has again changed.
